Day 6
Chickens slept alongside us, waking us pre dawn. Recruited help to portage to a sheltered bay to put in. Wind blew all night and was waiting for us. 32km morning paddle, reaching Tumbi Point, a long spit of sand that curves around in a hook creating a perfect sheltered bay with crystal clear water.
Snorkeled amongst schools of Cichlids. Paddled further 15kms, landscape now very wild, mountain range runs down into the water, densely vegetated. Shared night in a tiny cove with a few fishermen taking shelter from the weather. No lights on the lake at night, clear sign this weather frustrating the fishermen.
Steady progress
