Day 5 - early afternoon

We arrived at Metengula, largest Mozambican town on lake. Paddled 42km in six hours to get here by 1:30pm. Restocking with a few essentials and tasting some fresh food. Wind and swell still strong but at our backs. We did well to stay afloat and use it, no spills today but both feeling queasy from riding waves for six hours! Fun markets in Metengula, it’s certainly a happening place. If we push a little longer today we might make Nkwichi Lodge by end of day tomorrow - big incentive.
