Paddling with crocs and hippos

Huge day. 53Km paddle. 25km crossing to koobi fora-Cradle of mankind.

Brent hooked monster perch, we lost our paddles overboard and used a spare to chase them; and he still landed the fish!

Afternoon in marsh 20Km long 5Km deep, we kept bottoming out. pushed deeper. Night came crocs hippos everywhere. Fullmoon paddle Beautiful if not for terror of our predicament. Hit ground several times, backed out. Eventually found tera ferma and made a very rapid landing.

Found beautiful beach. Made camp. Feeling a bit sore and loving it!
